Historically being a defensive gateway, one that separated the Old Town from Canongate, the area inside the gateway became known as the “World’s End” because as far as the people of the town were concerned, this was where the world literally ended!

The room itself is designed beautifully, providing our guests with a modern aesthetic that is complemented by the classic stone walls that give style, comfort, and warmth to the room, making it not only a hub for unwinding but also a lovely environment in which to reflect and relax.
The kitchen and dining area are fully equipped for all your needs. If you wish to prepare a five-course meal, you will find all the necessary appliances such as a fridge, a microwave, a dishwasher, a stove, an oven, a coffee maker, cooking basics, and silverware.
Share a meal together around the dining table which is suitable for up to 4 guests.

A queen-sized ensuite bedroom is beautifully designed, with lots of natural light and plenty of storage space for all your belongings.

- Strictly no smoking, no parties, no pets
- Dispose of rubbish appropriately
- Keep the property clean and tidy
- Whilst washing up and stripping the beds at check out would be appreciated, it is by no means expected
- Quiet hours are between 10:00 PM and 9:00 AM. Please keep the noise down and respect other neighbours in the building
- Please remember to close all windows and doors when leaving the space

*Please note - if the sofa bed is used there is an additional fee of £15 for linen. Sofa bed linen is not provided by default so please let us know if it is required.

The property is professionally cleaned and hotel-quality linens and towels will be provided for your stay.
Elements of this rich history still echo here to this very day, as the base of the port can still be seen outside of the pub, marked by metal plates in the roadway. In addition, the actual foundations of the pub still incorporate part of the Flodden Wall, which was a major part of the town’s defenses. Inside the pub, you will find an eating area and a bar. With its dark panels and stone walls, the pub is overflowing with character, so make sure to visit it!
