Within a very easy walking distance are some of the most popular attractions such as the ancient Sé Cathedral and the Castle. You can also easily walk to the Fado Museum and the National Pantheon, as well as the famous Feira da Ladra flea market, open on Tuesdays and Saturdays. There are plenty of cafeterias and traditional Fado restaurants in this district, such as Sr.Fado on the Rua dos Remédios or Arcaz Velho on the Calçada do Forte street. Faz Figura, on the Rua do Paraiso, is a stylish, more upmarket restaurant with great food. Santa Apolonia train and metro station is just 3-5 minutes' walk away, and inside the station, there is a good supermarket called Pingo Doce. Just across the road from here, the cruise terminal receives many large cruise ships and there is an area of restaurants, a wonderful delicatessen, and the famous Lux nightclub. There is always a line of taxis outside the Santa Apolonia station, and several buses leave from here also.
