JOIVY Traditional Provençal style Cottage with Pool

A beautifully restored traditional cottage, adjoining to the estate’s main house, Domaine de la Vène, in a breathtaking unspoilt Mediterranean landscape.

The property is wonderfully private, away from any roads and with land as far the eye can see - the whole estate is 630 acres - it is set within a stunning landscape of vineyards, olive groves, and lavender and pine-covered hillsides.

The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, wonderfully cosy sitting room and dining area, with views out onto the lake and forest. There are three bedrooms - one double and one twin as part of the cottage, and one twin bedroom in a standalone maisonette. Each bedroom is equipped with a fan and heating system, a wardrobe or chest of drawers, a hairdryer, all linens and towels. The bathroom has been done up in a traditional Moroccan style, is replete with a beautiful bath and has all bathroom essentials.

We only rent out the Bergerie Cottage when we don’t have guests staying in the main house, so you will have full private access to the swimming pool, sunbeds, pool house and garden. The Bergerie Cottage also has its own private courtyard garden with separate dining and barbecue area.

The cottage is family friendly, and has good suitable workspace with high-speed WiFi should any guests need to work.

Other things to note
In light of the current situation, we kindly ask your guests to consume electricity and gas mindfully. Please note we will add an additional charge for excessive energy usage.

Please note that а refundable security damage deposit of £400 is mandatory and must be paid via card using the link we will provide before you check in. Property inspection occurs post-checkout, and if no damages are observed, the deposit is refunded to the card used for payment within 7 days.

Neighbourhood highlights
Sitting in the foothills of the Pyrenees, there is a wonderful amount to explore in this culturally rich region of the South of France - wine tours and cooking lessons, wild swimming spots, amongst various other activities. The medieval city of Carcassonne, with its towers and traditional restaurants, is a fifteen-minute drive from the house, and there are beautiful beaches within a day trip distance.

Carcassonne Airport is a 30-minute drive away, Toulouse Airport is 1.5 hours, and Montpellier Airport is two hours.
